ESN has been the most binding element for me since I came to Bogazici two years ago. I met with people from all around the world and now I have friends from 27 different countries. I met with down-to-earth people who said “Text me if you come to Gent” or “Call me when you come to Munich during Erasmus”. Thus, ESN helped me to build a global network based on friendships. In addition, ESN provided me opportunities to travel around in and out of Istanbul together with like-minded people who were eager to travel and escape from the stresses of life.

My semester at Bogazici University has honestly been such a rewarding few months, both educationally and socially. ESN has been great in kick-starting my social life as an ERASMUS student; by going to the buddy meeting and the boat party at the beginning of the term I got the chance to speak to fellow students from all over the world, some of which I know will now be my friends for life.

Thanks to ESN Bogazici I was able to meet lots of Exchange and Erasmus students as well as locals. Their events are always fun and well-organised and I recommend all Exchange students to attend. During my time at Bogazici I joined the trip by ESN Bogazici to Capadoccia and it turned out to be one of the best weekends of my stay in Turkey. Thank you ESN Bogazici for everything!

As a foreign student I truly appreciated the experience at ESN Bogazici. The staff at ESN Bogazici were able to assist us in getting famailiarised with the environment (tour around campus, events etc.), as well as made sure all our needs were taken care of. I was able to observe sights in Turkey that were unimaginable, as I have been to Turkey before but now I can say that I've experience the country to the fullest, by engaging with the people and getting associated with the environment I was able to see things other than just the tourist attractions.

Participating in ESN is what made my time at Bogazici special. After a few short weeks in Turkey I recognized ESN Bogazici as having created my 'home away from home.' From weekend adventures to late night hangouts and study sessions, I knew I could always rely on my buddies to be there for me. ESN buddies genuinely care about making sure that every Exchange and Erasmus student has an amazing time while abroad, whether it is on campus, downtown, in Izmir or Cappadocia. No one can hang out with ESN and not have an amazing time.

Istanbul is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but it can also be one of the most difficult to navigate as a foreigner. For this reason, I do not know what I would have done without ESN Bogazici. I made great friends in ESN, despite the language barrier and they gave me experiences that I would not have otherwise had. For example, going to the best brunch spots in Besiktas, eating dondurma on the coolest rooftop bar in Taksim, dining and dancing to traditional Turkish music on the Bosphorus, and walking the beautiful trail of Buyukada.
