My semester at Bogazici University has honestly been such a rewarding few months, both educationally and socially. ESN has been great in kick-starting my social life as an ERASMUS student; by going to the buddy meeting and the boat party at the beginning of the term I got the chance to speak to fellow students from all over the world, some of which I know will now be my friends for life. As for the university itself, although of course whilst living in Istanbul I have been sightseeing in between classes as much as possible, I can say that the Bogazici campus is one of my favourite spots in the city; I love the consistently carefree and welcoming atmosphere, which I’d say is a testimony to Bogazici students in general! From my first day of term when I accidently walked into a class instructed in Turkish, to the ESN-organised trip to Cappadocia which I can say was one of the most entertaining weekends I’ve ever had, to being just feet away from famous Turkish pop singers at a free music awards ceremony on campus, I don’t know how many of my friends and family back home will believe any of it...
