Constantinople, Konstantiniyye, Islambol, and finally, Istanbul… The only city in the world that has served as capital for three empires. This Saturday we are taking a tour to the Old Town, also known as the Historical Peninsula, where the city of Istanbul was originally founded and is surrounded by historical and cultural treasures, a legacy of the Eastern Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Empires.

We will start our trip with Sultanahmet aka Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles on the walls of its interior design. It is the only mosque that was built with six minarets.

Our next destination is the impressive Hagia Sophia, a former Byzantine church, later an Ottoman mosque, and now a museum. It was called “the eighth wonder of the world” by East Roman Philon.

Then, we will visit the splendid Basilica Cistern which was the major water supply of Constantinople.

On the 7th of July at 12 PM, join us as we see the Ottoman culture and taste the old Byzantine memories!
